Well, I had a baby. And despite being thrown into the ring of first-time parenthood, I have managed to glean small moments for what I love—testing products, playing with makeup—while uncovering new things I enjoy too. I spent so much time over the last few years shedding parts of myself that didn’t belong, I’d argue I have more clarity than ever. With many of my hours now consumed by a tiny and radiant little body that needs me, I’m committed to sharing only worthwhile finds.
I’ve collated a small, but mighty lists of favorite items from April. It feels only fitting to reemerge into your inboxes with the bread-and-butter-style post that inspired me to write Light House in the first place. Let’s jump into the April favorites:
Caraway Ceramic Frying Pan: It’s as good as all the home-cooking influencers tell you it is. Non-toxic and non-stick as hell, we hardly use any other pan. You can use code “TIANAGIDLEY” for 10% off, but don’t let the code fool you. I would shout praise for this pan with or without the affiliation.
ARMRA Colostrum in Sungold Apricot: Instead of focusing so intently on how I look this postpartum season, I’ve been more focused on feeling good from the inside out. There are a few supplements that have helped, but ARMRA is hands-down the most impactful. It supports my body with digestion, decreased bloating, sustained energy, hair growth, and so much more. The flavored variations are my favorite, as they’re the perfect companion for my water, but I’m also known to launch a scoopful of the Unflavored Colostrum directly into my mouth each morning. I particularly love the Sungold Apricot and Blood Orange flavors. You can use code “TIANA-GIDLEY” for 15% off, but I’ll let you in on a secret: I practically begged to be a part of this affiliate program. I like the product that much.
Nue Co. Prebiotic + Probiotic: Another supplement that’s been a game-changer is this probiotic from the Nue. Co. I like it because it helps balance my gut health (in addition to ARMRA) and has supported me so much in my breastfeeding journey. The packaging is also incredibly chic, if you care about details like that.
Versed Skin Tint (5N) + Serum Concealer (6O): Did you know Versed is doing make-up? At first, I shrugged this off to another quick-buy Target brand, but I’m delighted to say I was wrong. So many of the products are really good. My favorites are the skin tint and serum concealer. They’re lightweight, blend like a dream, and stay on all day. I’ve also heard their Blush Stick in “Cozy” is a dupe for Rhode’s “Toasted Teddy”.
Koala Eco Cleaning Products: I saw someone recommend this brand online when I was searching for all-natural (but beautiful) cleaning solutions for life with a newborn. This checks every one of my boxes! Each scent smells incredible, the brand is non-toxic, and the packaging is also gorgeous look at. Win-win-win.
Negative Underwear Whipped Henley + Trackpant: Another small way I’ve been feeling put-together postpartum is with matching sets. When I’m not in my Eberjey pajamas, this duo from Negative Underwear is super chic and easy to nurse in.
Doll 10 Pink Power Brightening Treatment Powder: I hadn’t heard of this brand, but received the opportunity to try a few of their products and I have to say: I am so impressed. I’ve been reaching for the under-eye powder most. It’s the perfect shade of pink to brighten subtly, and as an oily girl, I love how mattifying the formula is.
Norba: If you’re looking for elevated activewear, this is it. I was on the hunt for a quick-fix to motivate me to move my body, and I couldn’t resist these sleek cuts and styles. They make me feel a bit more polished when walking around my neighborhood or getting a 20-minute Move With Nicole workout in. I’ve especially been reaching for the Accent Leggings because they offer more visual intrigue than your standard set of activewear bottoms.
Beautiful Chaos by Jessica Urlichs: I saw someone reading an excerpt from this book online and preordered it in a time of desperation. The poems on motherhood make me weep. Urlichs captures the dynamism of motherhood so beautifully—the ache, the uncontrollable bursts of love, everything.
Sézane Danae Necklace: I had been on the hunt for the perfect beaded necklace, and hadn’t had luck at the thrift. When I saw this option from Sézane, I knew I had to have it. It styles beautifully with so many outfits and I love all the classic color options.
